3 reasons why Starkey is chugging the Steelers Kool-Aid

Joe Starkey isn’t just drinking the Steelers Kool-Aid, he’s chugging it from a black and gold keg.

Now, The Pomp & Joe Show host doesn’t think the Steelers are going to the Super Bowl and might not even win a playoff game.

But, he thinks the situation for Pittsburgh making the playoffs looks better and better.

Here’s a few reasons why.

AFC North Opponents:

The Cincinnati Bengals “just don’t have a defense and they’re going to have less of one if they trade (defensive end) Trey Hendrickson.”

The Cleveland Browns have four quarterbacks but don’t have a solid #1.

Steelers opening schedule:

They open with the Jets, Seahawks, Patriots, Vikings and Browns . . . I think they’re going to open 5-0,” said Starkey.

He was more convinced the Steelers will get off to a good start after seeing New York Jets (and former Steelers) QB Justin Fields poor performance over the weekend.

The mystery of Aaron Rodgers over what’s known about Justin Fields:

Starkey says that Fields is a low-end starter or good backup and he would rather have the older Rodgers for this season because he believes Justin Fields has already shown who he is.

What we need to know about Rodgers is does he has one more good season in him?
