45 years after last title, Orioles are Bucs 2024 Home Opener

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – 45 years since the Pirates last World Series title, the Bucs will start 2024 against the team they defeated in seven games in 1979. MLB released the schedules already for next year.

Bucs home opener is Friday, April 5 against Baltimore and while a starting time was not announced, the recent trend has been for a 4:12 first pitch.

Other notes from the Pirates 2024 schedule
·     Opening day in Miami on Thursday, March 28-start of a four-game series
·     Boston at PNC Park April 19-21 followed by the first division foe, a four-game series against the Brewers
·     Only three off days in April
·     It’s unknown if Shohei Otani will still be with them, but the Angels are at PNC Park on May 6-8 for only the third ever visit to Pittsburgh (series 3-3)
·     Bucs are OFF on Memorial Day but host Atlanta leading up to the Monday holiday
·     Reds and Tampa Bay at PNC Park June 17-23 including a Thursday off-day
·     Cardinals at PNC Park on Independence Day
·     Bucs at Cleveland for Labor Day weekend, although will play Labor Day at the White Sox
·     Don’t look for the Steelers to open the 2024 season at home with the Bucs hosting Washington on Sunday, September 8 and Kansas City on September 15
·     First time ever, the Pirates will close the season at the Yankees September 27-29.
