PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – On Monday, Steelers offensive lineman Broderick Jones joked that he might tackle Aaron Rodgers again if he had a big touchdown pass. Wednesday, Rodgers issued a warning back to Jones.
It stemmed from the 68-yard touchdown pass Rodgers threw to Pat Freiermuth near the end of the Bengals game. After the play, Jones started celebrating with Rodgers and then tackled him to the ground.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said he didn’t see it. Jones admitted Rodgers was a ‘little mad’ about it. Tackle Troy Fautanu said it was just the emotions of the game. Here is how Rodgers describes it all.
“Brod is always the first one to come find me after a play," Rodgers said smiling throughout the explanation. "It could be the first big pass down to DK on third down. He’s coming and dapping me up. What you don’t see in the video is right after the throw he is coming over to me and shaking me and shaking me. Like I texted him ‘hey man, I love your energy. I love everything you are about, but also, I’m 41. You can’t be out there tackling me like that.”
“I love Brod. We had a couple of laughs about it.”
“I told him, I’m getting him next. He better watch his back.”
