Andrew McCutchen passes Clemente on all-time home run list

With his three-run, home run Wednesday afternoon Andrew McCutchen passed Roberto Clemente on the Pirates all-time list.

McCutchen’s home run in the bottom of the 5th inning gave him 241 career dingers in a Pirates’ uniform. One more than Clemente’s 240.

“22 is one better than 21,” Pirates play-by-play announcer Joe Block said on SportsNet Pittsburgh.

McCutchen is now behind only Ralph Kiner (301) and Willie Stargell (475).

The 38-year-old veteran has a career 324 home runs when you include the team’s McCutchen’s played for outside of Pittsburgh.

“I was a good feeling to be able to do it at home,” said McCutchen via Hannah Mears on SportsNet Pittsburgh after the game.

It’s McCutchen’s sixth home run and first at PNC Park in 2025.

His home run was the difference maker with the Pirates winning 5-2 against the Miami Marlins, taking the series.

The Pirates have now won 5 of their last 6.
