'Best mock out there' has Steelers taking QB Dart at #21

Calling it the “best mock draft out there” Joe Starkey and Bob Pompeani talked to The Athletic’s and FOX Sports analyst Bruce Feldman, who has the Steelers taking Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart at #21 in the draft.

LISTEN: Bruce Feldman mocks Dart to Steelers

“He’s a very tough kid, when you talk to coaches who played him, the thing they admire most is that he is pretty fearless,” said Feldman. “He’s got a live arm, he’s a good athlete.”

The reason that he may still be around at #21 though is because Feldman says he isn’t sure if Dart is “great” at anything.

“If he was great at anything he wouldn’t still be around in the 20s when this is not a good quarterback draft,” said Feldman.

Feldman says that Cam Ward is clearly the #1 quarterback in the draft and Dart and Shedeur Sanders are closer in comparison.

At 6’2”, 223 pounds, Dart is the Ole Miss record holder with 10,617 passing yards and 12,115 of total offense. Last year he led all of FBS with 10.8 yards per attempt with 4,774 yards of total offense and third in passing yards with 4,279 including 404 yards and four touchdowns in a Gator Bowl win over Duke.

Dart visited the Steelers this past Friday for a pre-draft visit.

If the Steelers don’t go quarterback with the 21st pick, Feldman says there are plenty of great defensive lineman that Steelers can pick from.
