Retired quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a cautionary tale for the Steelers.
Receiver George Pickens was penalized twice on Sunday.
He was called for taunting and another for an illegal blindside block.
“I’m talking about the play where he gets in someone’s face . . . you don’t need to do that, there’s no point in doing that,” said Roethlisberger on his Footbahlin Podcast, with Spence.
The good news, is it didn’t affect the final score.
Roethlisberger says since the Steelers won, Mike Tomlin may have had a conversation and then swept it under the rug.
While he didn’t name names, Big Ben explained how Tomlin operates.
“I’ve seen him do it in the past with guys, I’ll put up with you until I can replace you.”
::cough:: Antonio Brown ::cough::.
“You just can’t do it, you just can’t have those, it seems almost every week that we’re having something like that happen,” said Roethlisberger. “Again, it hasn’t hurt us yet, but all it takes is one time. What happens if that happens in the fourth quarter . . . and it changes the game?”
Roethlisberger admires Pickens’ talents but,
“George Pickens is an absolute animal, he’s a game changer, he’s a difference maker but you got it to get it under control before it gets out of control and you lose it forever, because it can happen.”
Wide receivers are notoriously known for their egos and after 17 seasons, Ben Roethlisberger has worked with some of the biggest egos in the history of the NFL.

It should be noted that Roethlisberger is specifically talking about Pickens' attitude during the game and on-field. He's not being compared to any kind of off field issues like Brown has had.
