Hall of Fame Coach Bill Cowher has announced he will be inducted by Steelers president and owner Art Rooney II.
Cowher made the announcement during a "St. Patrick's Day Conversation" on Steelers.com with Rooney and former Steelers running back Merril Hoge.
Cowher was inducted into the 2020 class, but due to the pandemic was postponed to this year.
"To me it was a no-brainer. My presenter is going to be Art Rooney, and I called up Art that night and I said Art you're the only one because you knew before and you knew me after," said Cowher. "We were one big family."
"I was really just speechless and it is going to be a great honor," said Rooney.
Cowher will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame alongside his former player Troy Polamalu and 70s great Donnie Shell with festivities August 5-8.
Alan Faneca, another player under Cowher, and Bill Nunn are members of the 2021 class. They'll be celebrated August 6-9.
