PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Signed to a one-year deal in the offseason and then released to make room for Marcell Ozuna, former Pirates outfielder Jack Suwinski was claimed by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.

The 27-year-old hit 19 home runs in 2022 and followed that up in 2023 with 26 homers and 74 RBI.

The last two seasons have been struggles.

Suwinski came out of the gate with a .182 average in April in 2024 and it never got better. He finished with a .588 OPS and .324 slugging percentage. It got worse in 2025--.147 average, .253 slugging, .534 OPS and only three home runs in 150 at bats.

The left-handed hitter has five home runs in just 15 career games against the Dodgers with a .314 batting average and 1.083 OPS. A pair of those home runs came in Dodger Stadium. The current Dodgers outfield includes big free agent signing Kyle Tucker with Teoscar Hernandez, Andy Pages, Ryan Ward, Alex Call and Michael Siani.
