The Steelers are requiring all fans who enter Heinz Field this Saturday for their game against the Detroit Lions to wear a face covering in indoor areas, regardless of vaccination

“The includes indoor club levels, Steelers Pro Shops, restrooms, elevators and other enclosed spaces,” a statement from Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten said.

Masks do not need to be worn in the, “concourse areas, including the FedEx Great Hall, or the upper and lower seating bowls of the stadium as well as outside club seating and suites with the windows open.”

While proof of vaccination will not be required for fans to enter Heinz Field, the Steelers are following CDC guidelines and want all unvaccinated fans to wear a mask at all times.

The Steelers and Heinz Field Management will change and adjust their policies depending on how the pandemic continues to unfold.

The news comes as COVID cases continue to rise in Allegheny County with 598 new cases reported in the past 72 hours, according to the Allegheny County Health Department.

Heinz Field is currently operating at full capacity.
