We’re learning a little bit more about the Steelers two big injuries suffered during Sunday’s loss to Jacksonville, but not much.
Speaking during his weekly news conference on Monday, a day earlier due to the Thursday night game against Tennessee, Mike Tomlin said that Minkah Fitzpatrick is OUT.
He didn’t have much more to add about the safety’s hamstring injury.
“I don’t’ have additional information in terms of time of that injury, but its safe to say that he’s not going to be able to be available to us on a short week,” said Tomlin.”
Quarterback Kenny Pickett will likely be a GAME-TIME decision.
“I think the door is definitively ajar for Kenny, probably a game-time type decision,” said Tomlin.
He added that Pickett does not have any “structural damage” to his ribs.
With the Steelers not practicing on Monday, Tomlin said that safety Damontae Kazee would be considered limited.
The 21-day window for running back Anthony McFarland and defensive tackle Cam Heyward continue to be open.
Tomlin says both “will be a consideration this week.”
It has long been expected that Heyward will return against Green Bay on November 12.
