It’s been one of the craziest free agency periods in NFL History while big names being traded or signing with other teams.

But it’s not over yet, as ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the Steelers are reportedly looking at safety Tyrann Mathieu.

The Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs two years ago is also a two-time First-team All Pro and a three-time Pro Bowler.

Known as Honey Badger, Mathieu was taken in the 3rd round of the 2013 draft by the Arizona Cardinals, where he played his first five years before signing with Houston in 2018 and then a three-year $42 deal with the Chiefs in 2019.

Fowler says that Mathieu, “plays with the kind of edge that would seamlessly fit in Pittsburgh.”

But Steelers Fan Insider Ed Bouchette doesn’t think the Steelers should go after him.

“I wouldn’t take him, he’s Mike Hilton,” said Bouchette.

Fowler adds that the Steelers are also keeping an eye on Terrell Edmunds, after not picking up his fifth-year option last year.

Fowler says that the Steelers are also looking at former Dallas Cowboys free safety Damontae Kazee.

“He is known as a ball hawk who can play multiple spots,” Fowler says.

The Steelers have been uncharacteristically aggressive this offseason following the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger.

The addition of Honey Badger would be a huge boost to the defense.
