Earlier this week, Robert Murray of Fansided said a trade with the Washington Nationals for Pirates second baseman Adam Frazier would make sense but that "the asking price is said to be sky high."

Audacy Sports MLB insider Jon Heyman is now reporting that he's heard that talks are going on between the Pirates and White Sox, in a deal that would send Frazier to the South Side of Chicago.

"Talks are ongoing. Fit makes great sense but price tag has to be much higher," said Heyman.

The White Sox are currently in 1st in the A.L. Central with a 5.0 game lead.

Frazier's All-Star nod will likely solidify that high asking price that Pirates general manager Ben Cherington is reportedly asking for.

Frazier is currently batting .326 after going 1 for 4 last night. He has 101 hits, second in the league, along with an OPS of .861.

Frazier was a productive player for the Pirates in 2018 and 2019, but never to this level. The 29-year-old has one remaining year of arbitration eligibility, and the Pirates most likely won't be contenders in 2022. From here, it may make sense to cash in on whatever value Frazier has right now, because his value is unlikely to ever be higher.
