Dwayne Haskins’ friends, teammates and coaches paid their respects to the late quarterback on Pittsburgh North Side Friday afternoon and morning.

Some of the names who 93.7 The Fan’s Jeff Hathhorn saw going to pay their respects at the Center Alliance Church on the North Side include, Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada, owner Art Rooney, quarterback Mason Rudolph, offensive lineman Kendrick Green, defensive Cam Heyward, retired linebacker Ryan Shazier and safety Will Allen.

Hathhorn adds that there is also a side entrance that players and coaches could also use, so the people he saw entering the church is not an extensive list.

The service lasted around an hour and 20 minutes.

Head coach Mike Tomlin was a keynote speaker along with Haskins’ wife Kalabrya.

A couple of friends and an old coach spoke as well during the somber memorial.

A few of the Steelers players who said they would talk to the media after the services were too moved to speak leaving the church.

Former Steelers cornerback and current judge in Pittsburgh Dwayne Woodruff, spoke to a group of reporters who were across the street from the church saying he was hoping that the news wasn’t true when it broke.

“Such an energetic young man, a Christian, a believer,” said Woodruff. “He shared his enthusiasm with everybody he met, he had so much that he was looking forward to as well as his wife.”

Woodruff has he was moved by Haskins testimony while on the annual Steelers cruise recently.

“Things that we talked about and listening to Dwayne’s testimony about his family and things going on with him . . . your heart just went out to him.”

In addition, a memorial service will be held in his hometown of Rockway Township, New Jersey on April 23.

A vigil is set to take place in Potomac, Maryland, where he played high school football, the day after.

Haskins was killed while crossing a highway in South Florida in the early hours of April 9. He was hit by a dump truck. An investigation is on-going.
