The first overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, Henry Davis, has had his hot start in the Pirates system derailed by injury.

The 21-year-old catcher is on the 7-day injured list with a strained right oblique, according to MLB Pipeline.

Davis last played on Sunday for High-A Greensboro.

Between the rookie Florida Complex League and Greensboro, Davis is hitting .308.

After only two games in the FCL, the product out of Louisville was promoted past Low-A Bradenton to Greensboro.

In six games with the Grasshoppers, Davis is batting .263 going 5-for-19. He has one triple and two home runs and four walks for an OPS of 1.059.

Davis could return to the lineup by the end of August, if his rehab goes well.
