A play during Super Bowl LVIII has many Steeler fans doing the Leo DiCaprio pointing at the television meme.
During the overtime of the Super Bowl, San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk caught a ball and extended his arms to give the Niners a first down on the Kansas City 16-yard-line.
The Chiefs may have wanted to challenge the catch but they couldn’t
Replays in overtime are initiated by the replay official. The coaches don’t have any challenges.
It appeared the replay official didn’t even look at it, as the next play went off right after.
CBS replay expert and former referee Gene Steratore said Juszczyk extended his arms and that meant it was a catch.
That had many Steelers fans asking, what about Jesse James.
During a Week 15 game in 2017 against the New England Patriots, the then Steelers tight end caught a ball and extended it across the goal line to score an apparent go-ahead touchdown against the Pats with under 30 seconds to play.
But it was ruled that James didn’t control the ball falling into the end zone.
Steratore says the catch rule was simplified a season later in 2018, but if you’re a Pittsburgh Steelers fan you know one thing, “Jesse James caught that ball.”
