PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – There is news about Joey Porter, Junior to start training camp Tuesday at St. Vincent College, it’s not that there is a new contract, rather he is starting time in Latrobe on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
The team did not state what his injury is or when it occurred.
Porter, Junior is going into the final year of his contract and it was anticipated he would go through some form of ‘holding in’ during camp as TJ Watt, Cam Heyward and others have done over the years to work as leverage to get a new deal going into the final years of their contract.
He’s the third member of the secondary to be placed on PUP—Jalen Ramsey and Donte Kent the others.
“I feel like I was an elite guy since I’ve been in this league and I’m happy I’m getting the respect I feel like I’m owed,” said Porter, Junior after a mini-camp practice in June.
