Kaboly: 'The Players had enough' of George Pickens

Fan Steelers insider Mark Kaboly, of the Pat McAfee Show, says that the Steelers are lucky they’re getting a third-round draft pick for wide receiver George Pickens.

Kaboly tells The Fan Morning Show that there were a lot of Pickens’ teammates didn’t particularly care for him.

“I think more of the right people, now I’m not 100 percent sure who these right people are but I’m sure we can figure out the guy that has some say-so in that locker room were just tired of it, done with it, over it,” said Kaboly.

Kaboly adds “you can’t win that way” when teammates are walking on eggshells and wondering how he was going to act any particular day.

He adds that the situation in the locker room was probably a lot worse than we thought during the 2024 season with Pickens.

“You hear some things, so it’s hard to publicly out him right now because you’re not 100 percent sure, so I don’t want to say this, that and the other when I’m not 100 percent sure,” added Kaboly.

But, Kaboly says the tardiness that was well-documented was an issue that that he would get on the last team bus that would leave for games. Those buses normally have sponsors and other support staff.

An alleged post from Pickens on Instagram was posted on “X” was heavily critical of the Steelers organization.

“They the cheapest organization. Ain’t no stacking year after year they gone let them [expletive] go too soon as it’s time Lmaoo,” the post said.

But, Pickens said in an Instagram story that he didn’t make those comments.

“Just landed and seen straight lies from Pitt fans. Stop with the AI trying to make a story,” the post reads.

“I’m happy for everything that the steel city did for me,” Pickens adds.
