The Pirates made a couple of roster moves ahead of their final home three-game series of the 2026 season.
Right-handed pitcher Kirby Yates has been reinstated from the 15-day injured list.
To make room on the roster, RHP Camilo Doval has been designated for assignment.
Yates was added to the Pirates bullpen in early August after a trade with the Los Angeles Angles sent RHP Kyle Robinson to L.A.
He was placed on the 15-day IL on September 3 (retroactive to August 31) with a right shoulder injury.
Yates has a season ERA of 3.40 this season with 47 strikeouts over 39.2 innings.
Over 13 games with the Pirates, yates posted a 2.19 ERA with 11 strikeouts over 12.1 innings.
Doval was acquired in a trade deadline deal with the Yankees for two prospects and is under club control for next season.
Doval has a 4.30 ERA this season with 62 strikeouts over 58.2 innings pitched.
In 20 games with the Pirates, Doval had a 3.79 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 19 innings.
