The Pirates have placed starting pitcher Chad Kuhl on their COVID-19 injured list.
Another righty, Shea Spitzbarth has been called up from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Kuhl tested positive for COVID, that list has no minimum duration.
Pirates manager Derek Shelton told reporters on Monday that they are doing contract tracing with unvaccinated players on the team and that as of Monday afternoon, no other positive tests have come back.
Spitzbarth has no previous MLB experience and so far this season has gone 3-2 with a 1.41 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 27 appearances (32 innings) of relief with the Indians.
Manager Derek Shelton also confirmed on Monday that Steven Brault will make it first start of the season on Wednesday night after suffering a lat strain in Spring Training.
