PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – On a night with the actual temperatures in the teens and the feels like temperature much colder, the Steelers may be without their leading rusher.
Steelers announced late Monday morning that tailback Jaylen Warren is now questionable for the game Monday night due to an illness.
Warren, who routinely practices in shorts in cold weather, has 652 yards on the ground this year with four touchdowns and averaging 4.1 yards per attempt. That would put the load on Kenneth Gainwell, who has a 99-yard game and 371 rushing yards with 4.6 yards per attempt and also four touchdowns this season. Rookie Kaleb Johnson has only seen limited action with 26 carries for 65 yards. Both backs should be prepared for the conditions with Gainwell playing his pro career previously in Philadelphia and Johnson played in college ball at Iowa.
The Steelers took away the questionable status of tight end Darnell Washington on Sunday making him clear to play after going in concussion protocol after the game at Baltimore.
