In honor of Larry Richert's 20 years of hosting the KDKA Morning Show, the Pittsburgh Pirates invited him to PNC Park to throw out the first pitch on Thursday afternoon.
If you listen to Larry in the morning, you have probably heard at one time or another that he's s five-time Little League All-Star second baseman, so of course he had no trouble finding the plate.
All joking aside, Larry nailed a strike to the waiting Pirate Parrot.
Somewhat surprisingly, it's the first time Larry has thrown out the first pitch at a Pirates game.
Larry Richert's son and daughter along with their kids and his mother-in-law were on hand to celebrate the occasion.
In addition to his duties at KDKA, Larry is also the voice of the Steelers at Heinz Field and can be heard during Pitt football games as the sideline reporter on 93.7 The Fan.
Congrats Larry!
