We’re now three weeks into the 2025 high school football season and have seen some incredible passing and rushing performances throughout the WPIAL and Pittsburgh City League. This week, four more players find their way onto the KDKA Super 7 Watch List.

This season, KDKA Radio will again nominate players each week to join the KDKA Radio Super 7 Awards watch list. Every Monday, a new crop of players will be unveiled based on their efforts that previous Friday night. At the end of the year, KDKA Radio will announce the winners of the award for each WPIAL classification, as well as the Pittsburgh City League.

Here are the top performance from Week 2:

Logan Schade, North Catholic

In a game where North Catholic’s quarterback completed all 12 of his passes for nearly 250 yards and four touchdowns, his efforts were somehow overshadowed.

Instead, it was the Trojans’ ground game, led by Schade, who racked up 345 rush yards on 20 carries. He hit the end zone four times, guiding North Catholic to a 65-49 shootout win over Blackhawk. Schade also caught two passes for 65 yards, giving him over 400 total yards of offense in the game.

In three games this season, the senior has now rushed for 513 yards and nine touchdowns. The Trojans, meanwhile, are 3-0 and averaging over 60 points per game.

Evan Devine, Bethel Park

In Week 0, Devine passed for 359 yards in a high scoring win over Seneca Valley. After some offensive struggles against Mars last week, the Black Hawks got back to their dynamic ways Friday.

Devine passed for 367 yards and four touchdowns, adding a rushing touchdown in a 56-28 win over Armstrong.

A senior, Devine has now thrown for nearly 800 through the first three weeks of the season, as the Black Hawks sit at 2-1 heading into Friday’s game against West Mifflin.

Devine did not play football as a junior last year, opting to join the golf team due to of a shoulder injury.

Brodie Cornell, West Allegheny

Finding the end zone is always great. Finding it three times in one night is even great. But to score three touchdowns in three different ways? That’s special.

And that’s what Cornell pulled off on Friday, scoring on a 48-yard run, a 76-yard punt return and a 66-yard pass as the Indians smashed McGuffey 65-7.

Cornell, whose older brother Brock was a standout player for the Indians last season and now plays at Penn, also made a handful of tackles on defense.

West Allegheny rebounded from a heartbreaking overtime loss to Chartiers Valley in Week 1 to move to 1-1 on the year.

Aaron “Oobi” Strader, Pine-Richland

Strader has been no stranger to big performances, making an impact for the Rams since a young age.

Now a junior, Strader has become one of the WPIAL’s top passers, and showed why Friday in Pine-Richland’s 49-20 win over Seneca Valley.

Strader passed for 255 and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 51 yards in the victory.

He currently has offers from Akron, Sacramento State, Kent State, Youngstown State, Miami (OH) and Central Michigan.

The high school football season continues this weekend with Friday night coverage of McKeesport at Belle Vernon.
