Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy announced Friday that first-round pick, offensive lineman Max Iheanachor will not practice Friday after suffering an injury on Thursday.
McCarthy said he expects Iheanachor to return on Monday.
He also wouldn’t going into detail on the injury, saying he prefers the players to talk about their own injuries.
But, Iheanachor appeared to suffer an upper-body injury during practice Thursday.
The Steelers are practicing indoors Friday due to the possibility of storm storms and lightning in the Latrobe area.
McCarthy stressed the importance of the practices they’re currently holding.
“These two practices, yesterday and today . . . they’re the most difficult of training camp,” said McCarthy.
McCarthy also had high praise for Steelers quarterbacks coach Tom Arth.
“I think Tom is definitely a future head coach in this league,” said McCarthy.
