Former Steelers running back Najee Harris suffered an eye injury due to do a “fireworks mishap” during a July 4th celebration.
First reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Harris’ agent Doug Hendrickson said the Chargers RB “sustained a superficial eye injury” and that several other people were injured during the celebration.
Rapoport says Harris will probably miss the beginning of Los Angeles Chargers training camp, but his agent says Harris is expected to be “ready for the upcoming NFL season.”
Taken in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Steelers, Harris has never missed an NFL game.
He has recorded over 1,000 yards in each of his first four seasons. The Steelers declined his 5th-year option making him a free agent after this past season.
Harris has a 4,312 career yards with 28 touchdowns.
