Najee's agent says report that Harris wanted 5th-year option declined is false

The agent for Steelers running back Najee Harris is responding to something that 93.7 The Fan’s Paul Zeise was told about his contract.

Zeise heard from a “little birdie” that Harris wanted the Steelers to decline his 5th-year option so he could play somewhere else in 2025.

He mentioned that on The Joe Show earlier this week.

On Thursday, Harris’ agent Doug Hendrickson sent out a tweet that said Zeise’s source “is a joke.”

“Next time do your homework and find a real source – not true,” Hendrickson added.

Harris was taken in the first-round of the 2021 NFL Draft (24th overall) by the Steelers.

The pick was considered controversial since running backs are typically taken in the first-round.

Harris is native of the Bay Area in California.
