PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Not the quarterback that so many nationally speculated, but the quarterback of the national championship team goes to the Steelers in the sixth round.

6’4”, 236-pound Will Howard completed 73% of his passes (2nd only to Shedeur Sanders in 2024) for 4,010 yards, 35 touchdowns (4th in FBS), 10 interceptions and seven rushing touchdowns at Ohio State last year. Howard had a passer efficiency rating of 175.25 (3rd in FBS).

The Pennsylvania native transferred from Kansas State for a graduate year at OSU finishing with 9,994 passing yards and 85 touchdowns with another 1,147 rushing yards and 26 TDs in college.

NFL.com projects Howard will only be an average backup knocking him for being mechanical and predictable and said he was bailed out at times by the receivers at Ohio State. They did praise his size and toughness with a repeatable delivery. He also made some huge throws in leading his team to a championship.
