Official, Panthers sign Australia shooter

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pitt basketball made it official with an intriguing prospect from Australia on Thursday. He’s a 6’8” small forward who is known for his shooting ability.

6’8”, 195-pound Henry Lau signed with the Panthers after averaging 15 points per game, 52% from the field and 92% free throws at the U20 Australian National Championships. His final season in high school in Sydney he averaged 28 points, 15 rebounds, six blocks and four assists per game.

He was on the roster for the Sydney Kings of the Australian National Basketball League where his coach told NBL.com he has a great work ethic, is competitive and has a knack for using his size and length to his advantage.

Lau is the seventh to sign with the Panthers since the season ended joining top returners Cam Corhen and Brandin Cummings.
