Other Steelers injury news including Minkah Fitzpatrick

What Tomlin said of a few other defensive ailments

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – After the TJ Watt news, the rest of the injury report seemed pretty optimistic for the Steelers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs at Buffalo on Sunday.

S-Minkah Fitzpatrick
·     Out since the Indianapolis game when he suffered a knee injury, it looked good early last week for Fitzpatrick to return, but wasn't able to go full in the last practice. Fitzpatrick will be limited in the early portions of the week and Tomlin said his standard 'we will let the amount of participation and the quality of participation be our guide'
·     Tomlin said he is optimistic about Fitzpatrick's return and discussed his return in later moments of his news conference

LB-Elandon Roberts
·     Played through a groin injury since early December and is now dealing with a pec injury. Roberts may be limited at the early portions of the week.

S-Damontae Kazee
·     It's not injury related rather Kazee has been suspended since a helmet-to-helmet hit in the Colts game. While Kazee said he's been working out and is in shape, Tomlin said they will evaluate him from a conditioning perspective and find a division of labor for him.

Tomlin said they now have a number of options in the secondary with the potential for Kazee and Fitzpatrick to return. He's been impressed with safety Eric Rowe and Patrick Peterson and depending on health could move those guys into different positions, including the potential of Peterson going back and playing some cornerback.
