Former Pine-Richland Football head coach Eric Kasperowicz is joining Pitt football’s staff as a volunteer assistant.

Former Pine-Richland assistant Kraig Urbik is also joining Pitt as a volunteer assistant. Urbik is a former Steeler lineman.

“Pitt man, Pitt grad,” said Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi talking about Kasperowicz. “He will partake in what we do. We are happy to have him on staff. He’s a great addition. Obviously a super coach and an even better person.”

In April, the school fired their successful high school football coach and his staff over email and outrage against the decision has been pouring out ever since.

Kasperowicz was reportedly fired, along with his staff, after reports of hazing incidents.

The Pine-Richland Rams are defending state champions and Kasperowicz has brought a total of four WPIAL Championship and two state titles to the district.
