PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pirates second baseman Adam Frazier and catcher Jacob Stallings lost out on Gold Glove Awards that were announced Tuesday night.
Frazier was a finalist for a second straight year, but once again lost out to the Cardinals Kolten Wong. The 30-year-old Wong will be a free agent after his club option was declined.
Stallings also lost out to a player from the NL Central, Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart also won his second Gold Glove. Barnhart with a .994 fielding percentage and threw out 36% of the runners attempting to steal. Stallings played in more games, also with a .994 fielding percentage and threw out 33% of the runners.
Both Frazier and Stallings are arbitration eligible for the 2021 season.
