PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The list of past winners are among some of the greatest players in Steelers history. Since 1988, the Pittsburgh chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America has honored a player for cooperation with the media, this season it’s linebacker Patrick Queen.
In his second year with the Steelers, Queen has often been someone who will be honest after wins or losses and has spent time trying to explain that to us so we can relay it to you.
“I am blunt about a lot of things,” Queen said. “Sometimes I’m pissed off, sometimes I’m just keeping it real. I appreciate you all, I know you got a job to do and sometimes as players you like it and sometimes you don’t.”
“My dad was always blunt with everything. I take after him in a lot of things. I feel like everything should be straightforward. I don’t think there is a reason to lie about things. I don’t think there is a reason to sugarcoat anything. If you want to be great, you got to be real about things.
“The older I get, the more transparent that stuff becomes.”
