Pirates manager Derek Shelton has relased the first lineup of the 2022 season.

Designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach will lead off.

Bryan Reynolds will bat second in center field, followed by Ke’Bryan Hayes at third base, Yoshi Tsutsugo at first base, Kevin Newman at shortstop, Cole Tucker is in right field, Ben Gamel is in left, Roberto Perez is catching and Hoy Park is at second base.

Right-handed pitcher JT Brubaker gets the start on the mound. The designated hitter was added to the National League this offseason.

Rookie Diego Castillo is not in the starting lineup, but has made the Major League Roster.

Opening Day first pitch in St. Louis against the Cardinals is scheduled for 4:15.
