PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The regular season schedule already announced, it makes sense MLB has now allowed for the posting of the Pirates Spring Training schedule with 16 of the 31 games to be played in Bradenton.
Here are some schedule notes:
· One of the favorite days of the exhibition season, the Bucs will host Tampa Bay on St. Patrick’s Day.
· Only one home game with the Twins (March 8), Phillies (March 10), Red Sox (March 23) and Yankees (March 24)
· The Orioles will be the most common opponent, six matchups, three at home.
· The first game is February 24 in Fort Myers against the Twins and then home the following day in the first Baltimore matchup.
· The final game is at home, March 25 against Toronto, as Grapefruit League plays ends with three consecutive home games.
All home games are played at LECOM Park (8,500 capacity) with the broadcast schedule to be announced at a later date.
