PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Only two programs in the history of college football have more Pro Football Hall of Famers than the Pitt Panthers. The number grew on Thursday night with one of the more obvious selections of his generation.

Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is the 11th Panther in Canton, and there was no debate.
·     17,492 yards (2nd in NFL history)
·     1,432 receptions (2nd in NFL history)
·     9, one-thousand-yard seasons
·     11-time Pro Bowler
·     Pro Football Hall of Fame All 2010s Team
·     NFL 100 All-Time Team
·     2018 Walter Payton Man of the Year

Fitzgerald joins two handfuls of Pitt stars in the Pro Football Hall of Hall of Fame-Tony Dorsett, Jimbo Covert, Dan Marino, Chris Doleman, Rickey Jackson, Curtis Martin, Joe Schmidt, Russ Grimm, Mike Ditka and Darrelle Revis.

Notre Dame and USC each have 14 players in the Hall of Fame. It will grow by one in 2029 when Aaron Donald becomes eligible and LeSean McCoy is a potential addition over the next several years.
