Burton played 67 games (52 starts) at Wichita State averaging 7.9 points, 3.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds.  He shot 34% from 3.  Before choosing the Shockers, he visited Butler, George Mason, Temple, UMass and had an offer from Penn State out of high school in Charlotte.

Burton comes from an athletic family.  His mother, brother, two older sisters and two aunts all played collegiate basketball.  His uncle, Todd Peat, played in the NFL and cousin, Andrus Peat was a first round pick of the Saints in 2015 and still plays for New Orleans.

Burton will have two years of eligibility joining guards Ithiel Horton, Femi Odukale and Nike Sibande.
