PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Leading a Power 5 conference, seven road wins this year including at Syracuse, North Carolina and Northwestern. They have 18 wins overall. Yet Pitt again does not return to the AP Top 25.

18. Creighton (17-8)—3-4 on the road, beat Texas Tech and Arkansas, lost to Big 10 doormat Nebraska

19. Iowa State (16-8) – 2-6 on the road, beat Baylor, Texas, Kansas, lost 4 of last 5

22. TCU (17-8) – 2-5 on the road, lost to Northwestern State, best Kansas State, Kansas, lost 4 of last 5

The other 7-loss teams

14. Indiana (18-7) – 4-5 on the road, lost to Northwestern & Penn State, beat UNC, Purdue, Rutgers

20. UConn (19-7) – 4-5 on the road, beat Alabama, Iowa St, lost to St. John’s, Seton Hall

Non-Power conference

25. Florida Atlantic (24-2) – 9-2 on road, lost to Ole Miss and won at Florida as its only Power 5 opponents

It’s been 369 weeks since Pitt was last ranked. They continue to wait and win.

“That’s why we have just tried to focus on us,” said Pitt head coach Jeff Capel Monday about outside attention. “Not tried to allow these other things to seep into our program or to put pressure or cause worry.”

“These guys that we have, they have been so locked in and focused on us. The guys in the locker room and the staff and focus on what we can control and that’s us.”

Panthers host Boston College Tuesday night at 9 with Pitt pregame at 8:30 with Bill Hillgrove, Curtis Aiken and Cale Berger on 93.7 The Fan.
