PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The draft pick who will likely have the most eyes on him at training camp in Latrobe signed his rookie deal, after a lengthy wait. Penn State quarterback Drew Allar agrees to the four-year entry-level contract, financial terms were undisclosed.

Even though the contracts are mostly slotted, Allar was the last to sign of the Steelers draft picks.

The 6’5”, 228-pound Allar was a five-star high school prospect and Honorable Mention All-Big Ten as a sophomore and junior. A broken ankle ended his senior season after completing 64.8% of his passes for 1,100 yards, eight touchdowns and three picks, rushing for 172 yards (36 carries) and a score in five-plus games.

“For me, it's just about putting my head down and focusing on what I can control, just my effort and attitude each day and the amount of preparation I can put into going into each day,” Allar said this spring. “I know everybody in the quarterback room is going to do the same thing, and I feel like it's going to be a really exciting room to be a part of, just with everybody that's involved in that room.”

“I'm really excited to be a part of that room just because I feel like it's going to be a really good room to learn and grow from.”
