Duckmania won’t be taking hold in Los Angeles.

On Monday, the L.A. Rams Waived/No Recall both quarterback Devlin Hodges and former Pit Panther safety Paris Ford.

After Ben Roethlisberger’s season ended in 2019 and backup Mason Rudolph also went down with an injury, Hodges became the Steelers starter.

He went 3 and 3 that year with five touchdowns and eight interceptions with a 71.4 passer rating.

Hodges then spent the majority of the 2020 season on the team’s practice squad.

After the Steelers did not renew his contract in the offseason, Hodges signed with the Rams.

Ford played in seven games for the Panthers last season but opted out after to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Ford returned to Pitt for the Panthers workout day to show off his skills.

Ford chose to go to Pittsburgh when Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Auburn and others offered him a great opportunity to leave. His sophomore season in 2019 was the college breakout, leading Pitt in tackles and interceptions and second in pass break-ups and forced fumbles. Ford named All-ACC despite leaving early to concentrate on the draft in 2020.

It was not an easy decision to miss the final four games.  Ford said he hated leaving his brothers, but he started to think big picture.

“It’s crazy,” Ford said after his Pitt pro day. “I can be the first one in my family to create generational wealth. I’ve been working for this moment since I was 5-years-old. It’s really all I’ve known. It’s surreal. It’s really surreal. I can’t put into words how I really feel. I’m excited.”

Ford went undrafted but signed as and undrafted free agent in May.
