PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was asked about the possibility of facing Joe Flacco with the Browns Tuesday afternoon, about an hour later, Flacco was traded to their next opponent.

The 40-year-old sent from the Cleveland Browns to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Flacco was replaced as Browns starter last Sunday in London by rookie Dillon Gabriel, meanwhile Joe Burrow is out until December and Jake Browning has thrown five interceptions in his three starts with Cincinnati. The Bengals have been outscored 103-44 in those three losses, and that’s a little deceiving because Cincy scored late when the game was 31-3 in the fourth quarter.

In four games with Cleveland this year, Flacco completed 58.1% of his passes for 815 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions. A one-time Pitt quarterback, Flacco played 11 years with the Ravens throwing for 212 touchdowns and won a Super Bowl. He’s also played for the Jets, Indy and Denver.

Flacco is 11-11 in his career against the Steelers, completing 61% for 5,028 yards with 27 TD to 12 INT.

Bengals host the Steelers on October 16 with the return game in Pittsburgh exactly a month later.
