PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – After starting Grapefruit League games hot and then cooling off, Henry Davis was left in the minors when the Pirates broke spring training started the season. Now the Bucs catcher is back in the majors.
Pirates starting catcher Joey Bart left the Pirates game Friday night with lower back discomfort, it’s yet unknown if that will be the one-for-one move to bring the 25-year-old Davis back.
The number one overall pick in 2021, Davis is hitting .286 with three doubles, two RBI, .748 OPS in eight games in AAA Indianapolis. Last year in the majors, the right-handed hitter had a .144 average with four doubles and one home run in 121 at bats with a .453 OPS.
