PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Earlier in the day on Monday when we asked Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy about options at wide receiver, he said you are always looking. On Monday night, as first reported by Mike DeFabo at the Athletic, the Steelers are bringing back Marques Valdes-Scantling.
He turned 32 earlier this month and played three games for the Chargers this season before being released on Saturday. Valdes-Scantling played five games with the Steelers last year with 10 receptions on 21 targets for 80 yards including a touchdown.
Valdes-Scantling spent four years with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay with 123 receptions, 2,153 yards, 13 touchdowns.
Rodgers said last year about the addition of Valdes-Scantling then.
“I love MVS,” Rodgers said last year. “I’ve always enjoyed playing with him. He’s one of my favorite teammates of all time. He is a real special guy. He can still run.”
Steelers are off Tuesday, practice in Pittsburgh Wednesday and Thursday before leaving Thursday for the game in Paris Sunday morning.
