Former Colts and Ohio State running back Trey Sermon reportedly signed a one-year contract. The 26-year-old was the 49ers third-round pick in 2021 rushing 41 times for 167 yards and a touchdown. He would spent 2022 with the Eagles carrying it two times for 19 yards. The last two years with Indianapolis 91 attempts, 319 yards, 3.5 per attempt and two touchdowns adding 19 receptions for 112 yards.
Dealing with an injury is only season with the Buckeyes after transferring from Oklahoma, Sermon rushed for a school-record 331 yards against Northwestern in the Big Ten championship game and 193 yards against Clemson in a college football playoff game in 2020. The 6’, 218-pounder ran for over 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns in three seasons with the Sooners.
