It looks like the Steelers will retain Pat Meyer as their offensive line coach, that’s according to Post-Gazette Steelers insider Gerry Dulac.

As of now, there are also no opening on the offensive staff.

Dulac said he thinks if the Steelers were to make any changes, they would’ve done it by now.

That means quarterback’s coach Mike Sullivan is returning, unless he gets an offensive coordinator position somewhere else.

That also means that Mike Munchak won’t be returning to Pittsburgh as offensive line coach.

Talking about the news on the PM Team, Poni said it looks like all the of the lieutenants are returning and the only the general is different.

“This feels like a very Steelers move,” said Mueller, pointing out that the Steelers have a small coaching staff compared to the rest of the league.

This is how Steelers owner Art Rooney II reacted when asked if they’d consider expanding the coaching staff during a news conference earlier this week.

“I think you look at what's going on around the league and who do we need to be competitive in this league? So, whether that's numbers or individuals, I think those are the kinds of things that are under discussion at this point.”

Mueller doesn’t know why new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith isn’t able to bring in his own guys instead of having to work with coaches that were part of the Matt Canada regime.

“What an ass-backwards way of doing it, you’re going to lock up your offensive line coach before you even hire your offensive coordinator? What if you’re offensive coordinator doesn’t want to work with that offensive line coach?” asked Andrew Fillipponi.

Mueller says he doesn’t understand why they would keep Meyer when they have one of the best line coaches in Munchak available.
