After learning that Steelers receiver Diontae Johnson may not have a major injury after going down on the last play of the game Sunday, there is even more encouraging news on the injury front.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says that outside linebacker T.J. Watt who suffered a groin injury in the first half against Las Vegas, "has a chance to play this Sunday, I'm told."
While it's still too early to know what his game status will be when the Cincinnati Bengals come to Heinz Field for the 1 p.m. game, it's "not a major injury."
After signing a huge contract extension before the regular season started, Watt has proved he's worth the money.
He has three sacks, two forced fumbles, seven tackles and six quarterback hits.
While Watt wasn't the only defensive player unable to play due to injury (Devin Bush, Joe Haden and Tyson Alualu), the linebacker's lack of presence on the field was noticeable.
Hopefully, we'll learn more about Watt and the other injured players in coach Mike Tomlin's weekly press conference Tuesday.
Hopefully Watt can return on Sunday, but soft tissue injuries can be tricky and can flare up frequently.
