PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Mike Tomlin said Aaron Rodgers is questionable for the Steelers game in Chicago Sunday due to his fractured wrist. He was guarded with most of what else he said.
“I thought I saw a solid effort, but it’s Friday. We still got some time. He was listed as a partial participant. We will see where the weekend leads us.”
Asked what will happen between now and then to determine if he will play?
“I won’t do anything,” Tomlin said. “I’m not a medical expert, nor is Aaron. We will see.”
Has Rodgers been medically cleared?
“I don’t know what you mean when you guys ask that?” Tomlin said. “As I mentioned, it’s non-surgical, soon as they secure it and know he can protect himself, they’ll be comfortable.”
Does Tomlin feel comfortable with what he’s seen at practice?
“I’m not in the comfort business,” Tomlin said.
Tomlin said he hasn’t been involved in the brace fitting for his fractured left wrist, he let Rodgers and the medical staff handle that. He said there isn’t anything different for Zach Frazier to worry about with snapping the ball.
As for making the decision between Rodgers attempting to play through injury and Mason Rudolph?
“It’s thoughtful decision-making that you go through almost routinely particularly this time of year when you get into the meat of things,” Tomlin said.
He hasn’t gone through a full practice, but still Aaron Rodgers has probably better than a 50-50 chance to start Sunday against the Bears.
