The Pirates will be featured nationally on television as part of NBC’s Opening Day coverage.
In a release, NBC Sports says that the Pittsburgh Pirates 1 p.m. game against the New York Mets will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock.
“2025 NL Cy Young Award winner Paul Skenes and the Pittsburgh Pirates take on Juan Soto and the New York Mets,” NBC said.
Skenes will likely be the Opening Day starter and with pitchers pitching ever four or five days, airing the first game of the year is the closest thing to a guarantee NBC can have to having a Skenes game.
The MLB returns to NBC for the first time, on a regular basis, since 2000.
The other Opening Day game on NBC will be the World Series champion Dodgers hosting the Diamondbacks in primetime.
The Pirates will also be featured on the streaming service Peacock on May 24 at the Blue Jays, June 14 against the Marlins and July 12 against the Brewers.
Of course, you can hear all the games on 93.7 The Fan and KDKA Radio all season long.
