For the third-straight year, Pirates ace Paul Skenes is donating to the Gary Sinise Foundation every time he records a strikeout.
Skenes will donate $100 from each strikeout to the foundation committed to honoring and serving the people that defend the United States in the military.
The defending Cy Young Award winner is upping his 2026 goal but 50 percent, aiming to raise $150,000.
Fans can also join Skenes in donating, with the person that makes the largest donation between now and the home opener on April 3 getting a personal thank you from the Pirates star.
"My partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation has truly gone beyond what I could have ever imagined,” said Skenes. “While we can never do enough for our veterans, first responders, and their families, GSF’s programs and resources prove what is possible when we actively step up for these incredible heroes who sacrifice so much to protect and serve our communities. I am honored and excited to enter another year alongside GSF of supporting these brave men and women who do so much for us."
Skenes has a strong connection to veterans and the military, pitching at Air Force and having family members who has served the United States.
