PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – His college number the same as one of the Steelers all-time greats, first-round pick Broderick Jones had a simple answer to why he will wear number 77 in the NFL.

His roommate at the University of Georgia was fellow offensive lineman Devin Willock. He died in a car accident on January 15 that also killed a Georgia staff member. Willock wore 77 and now so will his good friend.

“They told me the number was available and I just wanted to show my respects by taking that number and letting him live through me,” Jones said Friday as he was introduced in-person as the Steelers first-round selection.
