Steelers a top 5 team in a number of Power Rankings

The latest power rankings from national outlets have the Steelers as a top contender in not only the AFC but the entire NFL.

NFL on Fox analyst Bucky Brooks has the Steelers as the #2 team in the NFL after their 18-16 win over divisional rival Baltimore this past Sunday.

The Steelers are now only behind the Detroit Lions in Brooks’ list.

Brooks writes, in part, “Mike Tomlin has whipped this team into championship shape by employing a complementary football approach that enables the offense, defense and special teams to work together.”

The Bills, Chiefs and Eagles round out his top five.

Fox NFL reporter David Helman has the Steelers at #5 in his latest rankings.

“The Steelers played lights out defense, got just enough from their offense and had the edge in the kicking game,” write Helman.

Pittsburgh is behind the Lions, Bills, Chiefs and Eagles.

ESPN also has the Steelers at 5 of their rankings. Detroit is first, followed by Kansas City, Buffalo and Philadelphia.

CBS has the Steelers at #4 in their rankings, up one spot from last week. Pete Prisco writes the Steeler defense was huge in the win against Baltimore, but the offense and Russell Wilson still have plenty to prove.

The bottom line is no matter who is doing the rankings, the Steelers are a top-tier team in later November.

Don’t expect a win over the 2-8 Cleveland Browns to move the needle much for the Steelers, but if they lose… they’ll likely fall pretty far.
