Steelers activate McFarland, make several other roster moves

The Steelers made several roster moves on Wednesday morning.

Running Back Anthony McFarland, who has been on the Reserve/Injured Designated for Return List and placed on the 53-man roster.

McFarland was activated from the Reserve/Injured list on October 6 and returned to practice. The Steelers had 21-days to activate him or lose him for the season.

McFarland was recovering from a torn MCL and said he doesn’t know how it happened.

Defensive tackle Carlos Davis, who has been dealing with a knee injury for much of the season has been placed on the Reserve/Injured List.

The Steelers also signed defensive tackle out of Syracuse Chris Slayton to the practice squad. Slayton was drafted by the New York Giants in the 7th round of the 2019 draft. He also spent time with the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons.

The Steelers also released running back Jaylen Samuels.

Along with Davis, defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt remains on the IR.
